Directbuy of Manhattan Donates Foosball Table to the Boys & Girls Club Educational Alliance
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK…
Made by one of the finest foosball manufacturers, the regulation-size foosball table retails for around $600. DirectBuy of Manhattan co-owner Mark Brandt delivered the table to the Educational Alliance located at PS 188, 442 East Houston Street, New York, to the excited children who eagerly awaited its delivery.
“To us, being a member of the business community here in Manhattan also means being a member of the community in general, just like our members,” said Brandt. “So when we make a donation to a place like the Boys & Girls Clubs, we’re not only helping out a worthwhile cause, but one that probably benefits our members, their families and their friends and neighbors, and that’s always worthwhile.”
The Educational Alliance is a non-profit organization that depends on the generosity and financial support of the community to help it fulfill its commitment to enriching the lives of individuals, strengthening families and building inclusive communities. The Educational Alliance is committed to integrated programming. They are service-based and remain connected to the community of Manhattan.
“The new foosball table has already been and will continue to be a great contribution to The Educational Alliance Boys& Girls Club and P.S.188 The Island School After School Program. On the day of the donation, the children had so much joy and excitement in playing foosball that they have asked everyday since, ‘are we going to play Foosball again today?’” said Janae Eldridge, After School program director. “We would like to thank Mr. Brandt and DirectBuy for beginning a new chapter in our After School history.”
The Educational Alliance provides children and families of all backgrounds with the skills and abilities that will develop in them the qualities of self-esteem and self-confidence, which are needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. Open during the summer and after school, the activity center offers a range of fun and safe activities from art, music and sports to swimming and camping and recently extended its summer hours to 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
