National Museum ( Museum Gajah Mada ) – A prime attraction in Jakarta is the National Museum, and there is plenty of stuff in this museum to explore. This museum is all about he history, culture, and people and evolution of Indonesia over the years, and features tons of prehistoric, archaeological, and ethnographic exhibits. It’s centrally located and costs almost nothing to get in, so be sure to visit. The Puppetry Museum is a little different, but also worth a visit.
Kepulauan Seribu ( Thousand Island ) – Off-shore north from Jakarta’s beach there are small islands called Kepulauan Seribu (the Thousand islands). They are part of the North Jakarta city government.If you go far north you will find shallow water with small islands scattered close to each other. There is where the underwater nature reserve is located. The favourite spot for diving is Kotok Island. But there are also other islands you can go for diving/snorkelling. One of them is Putri Island. I had a really great holiday there.
Ragunan Zoo – Get a different feel of Jakarta by visiting places like this!Ragunan Zoo has always been a must visit in the list of all the tourists. The zoo is spread over a large area of 10 hectors and exhibits more than 550 species of tropical plants clubbed with roughly 3000 animals from the country and the rest of the world. Taman Impian Jaya Ancol – It is a recreation park serving both outdoors and indoors activities. Located in North Jakarta, it is easily accessed by any kind of transportation. You need to pay Ancol entrance fee (Rp. 15,000/person + Rp. 15,000/car), and for certain facilities such as Seaworld, Dufan, water parks, there are other entrance fees. Extensive range of recreational facilities include: – Dream World (Dunia Fantasi) -Seaworld is a giant oceanarium – Ancol Beach and thematic water park (Atlantis and Gelanggang Samudera Ancol/GSA) – Craft Shops (Pasar Seni) – Marina Ancol – Ancol Golf course – 4 Dimension Cinema – Ice world – Bandar Djakarta is a seafood restaurant offering quite average prices for budget traveller.
